Experienced Founders
Chara Technologies, a Bengaluru-based startup, is making a name for itself in the motor industry. The three co-founders are seasoned entrepreneurs who bring in vast experience and expertise in the technology sector.
Bhaktha Keshavachar, co-founder and CEO, started his career at Sharp Laboratories in the US nearly 30 years ago. Prior to founding Chara, he spent over 12 years at Intel and co-founded Ezetap Mobile Solutions, which was later acquired by Razorpay.
Ravi Prasad, co-founder and director of motor design, was the director of motor design at Kirloskar Motors. He founded a motor design consultancy, providing solutions to large multinational corporations.
Mahalingam Kaushik, co-founder and chief technology officer, brings expertise in embedded electronics to Chara. He is responsible for a large portion of the company’s intellectual property, playing a key role in developing core technologies.
Innovation in the Motor Industry
Chara Technologies is focused on developing synchronous reluctance motors, an alternative to permanent magnet motors commonly used in electric vehicles and industrial machinery. The special feature of this type of engine is that it does not use rare earth metals, which significantly reduces production costs and the risk of supply shortages.
