Oorja: Combining Physics and Data for Predictive Analytics

Oorja Energy, a computer-aided engineering (CAE) startup, is making headway by combining physics-based modeling and artificial intelligence. Founded by Ineet Dravid, Oorja aims to provide accurate, fast, and cost-effective engineering analytics solutions.

Combining Physics-Based Modeling and Machine Learning

Dravid notes that today, whether it’s a smartphone or a missile, all products are simulated on computers before they are actually manufactured. This process uses physics-based modeling, based on fundamental scientific principles, to create accurate 3D simulations.

However, these traditional models can be time-consuming and resource-intensive to process. Oorja aims to combine machine learning and physics-based modeling to reduce the time, accuracy, and cost of engineering analysis.

Focus on Electric Vehicles

Currently, Oorja focuses on battery analysis and design for electric vehicles (EVs). Battery optimization requires high accuracy in predicting performance and durability. Using hybrid modeling, Oorja helps manufacturers optimize designs, increase battery life, and reduce manufacturing costs.

Ambitions for the Future

Dravid and his co-founders have the ambition to make Oorja the “Google of engineering analysis,” meaning providing automated, fast, and cost-effective engineering simulation and analysis solutions. The company has attracted customers from India, the US, and Europe due to its practical applications and clear benefits in the industry.

With the rapid development of AI technology and physics simulation, Oorja promises to play an important role in the future of global technical analysis systems.
